What does eco-friendly cultivation mean?
Eco-friendly means sustainable cultivation. In our case, that means cultivating tomato plants in a way that is friendly to the environment.

Our mission is to enable everyone to grow their own tomato plants at home.
For the people who cannot grow tomatoes in their own garden, we cultivate potplants with love (tomatoes that you can grow in pots or containers).

We want to do this without polluting or depleting the natural environment. Our goal is to grow organic tomatoes. This means we do not use pesticides and artificial fertilizer to grow our plants.
We fight diseases and pests organically, without chemical pesticides. This has been our objective for years and it generally works very well. But our pot tomatoes cannot be grown without synthetic fertilizer yet.

We do lots of tests on organic fertilizers for our plants, but it’s not easy. Because tomato plants grow in pots, starting the soil life takes too long in the initial phase. This causes a lack of nutrients in the plants.

But things are getting better and every year we need less synthetic fertilizer than the year before! We’re making progress, step by step, and I’m convinced that in future we will be able to grow our pot tomato plants without synthetic fertilizer.

To communicate our efforts for a sustainable world to you, the consumer, we have developed the ‘Eco-friendly cultivation’ label. This ensures that Farmzy products are free of chemical pesticides, that we use very little fertilizer and that we are working hard on making our energy consumption, plastic packaging and raw materials more sustainable.
